One day: Robber's Cave and Dehradun
Robber's Cave
Reach by 9-10 am, before the crowds. Hire slippers if you need them and wade up the gorge to the waterfall and back, about 1 to 1.5 hours.
Dry off and snack
Change into dry clothes and have tea and Maggi at the stalls by the entrance.
Tapkeshwar or Sahastradhara
Visit the cave shrine of Tapkeshwar Mahadev (about 6 km), or drive across the city to the sulphur springs of Sahastradhara (about 15 km).
Back in the city
Coffee on Rajpur Road or a walk through Paltan Bazaar and the Clock Tower.
If you have only half a day
- Go straight to Robber's Cave in the morning and spend about two hours there.
- Add Malsi Deer Park on the way back if you have children with you.
- Skip the gorge entirely if it has rained heavily in the hills the day before.
