Post-monsoon and autumn
PleasantOnce the rains stop the water clears and the forest around Anarwala is green. Ask at the gate whether the gorge is open before you go in.
Winter
ChillyDays are pleasant but the water is very cold and the gorge gets little sun. Keep the walk short and carry warm, dry clothes.

Can I visit Robber's Cave in the monsoon?
No. The water rises fast after rain upstream and the gorge is narrow, so it is unsafe in July and August. If there is any warning, stay out.
What time of day is best?
Between 10 am and 2 pm, when some sun reaches the gorge and the water feels less cold. Weekday mornings are the least crowded.
Is Robber's Cave good in winter?
You can, but the water is very cold. Many people only walk a short way in.
